So I’ve been gone a while – have a couple of projects to post but haven’t been able to take the pics yet – maybe later this week. I’ve been AWOL because I was diagnosed with carpal tunnel in late december and it was really beginning to bother me. On the first of February I had a steroid injection in both of my wrists. It hurt like hell. I am not really convinced that it helped but I am trying to be optimistic until my follow up appointment at the end of the month. I’ve had a lot of residual pain in my right hand from the injection. When I move it the wrong way or apply pressure in the wrong way it feels like an electric charge is being sent through my hand. That sucks.

I also have figured out that there is a pressure point on my wrist that I can now press to cause the entire side of my hand to contract. Neat, not really.  It has been getting steadily better so hopefully I will have new projects to share soon!

I’ve really been digging the song “My next 30 years” by Tim McGraw lately. Guess it must be because I am going to be 30 tomorrow. I decided to make a page with a self portrait that I did today so I would remember how I was feeling.

In a few hours I will finally turn 30. Sure seems like I have been waiting a really long time for it to happen. I mean – I’m really a grown up now. Right? Shouldn’t I be able to say that a bit more confidently? I’m a wife, stepmom and artist. I cook , a bit of housekeeping and laundry get done on a fairly regular basis. I scrapbook, go to soccer practices and worry about things like health insurance. Dang. I really am grown up. There is so much I want to do , see and be in my 30s. I’ve kinda just let life happen to me- now I think I am ready for some purpose. I’ll be off to a good start – I’m enjoying school, I’ll be starting the ed program this fall. I have a great family. I love being able to finally take riding lessonsand I am working on being comfortable just being me. I’ll get there, even if it takes the next 30 years.

30 – ready or not here I come!

So we are expecting Peyton’s appearance pretty much any day now. Summer is due on the 25th. I was thinking that after Bailey’s accident it would be nice to send her a little something to cheer her up so I put together this “New Mom Survival Kit.”

I got most of the little sayings out of an old PaperCrafts Magazine. A couple of them were “Lifesavers: To save you from one of those days!” and “a rubber band: to remind you to be flexible”

I have a couple more projects that I have finished so far this month but haven’t really had time to scan them – so look for more to come!

Starting a new year is always fun. Hopes, dreams, and new inspiration are right around the corner. Boaz and I invite you to join us on our creative journey through 2007 and beyond.
